Terms of Service

tokz accepts a payload and returns a compression result — byte offsets on the structural path, extractive chunks with a provenance map on the prose path. Nothing is paraphrased or generated. On the structural path every emitted byte is a substring of what you sent; on the prose path each chunk is a substring and we supply only the whitespace joining them.

The service is provided as-is. We aim for high availability but do not currently offer a contractual uptime guarantee. The SDK is designed so that a failure degrades to your uncompressed text rather than failing your request.

You are responsible for keeping API keys secret and for traffic issued under them. Rotate a key you believe is exposed; we cannot recover its secret.

Organisations own keys, usage and credits. Members with the owner or admin role can mint and revoke keys; members with the member role have read-only access.

Do not use the service to process content you have no right to process, to attempt to disrupt or overload it, or to probe other customers' data.

Do not attempt to circumvent metering or rate limits.

We may suspend an account that is causing harm to the service or to others, and will tell you why.

Usage is metered on bytes received and billed against prepaid credits. Rates are shown in the dashboard.

We bill for the payload you hand over, never as a share of what compression saves you. A percentage-of-savings model requires agreeing a counterfactual, and we would rather quote a rate you can verify.

Credits are consumed as you use the service. If your balance runs out, requests return a 402 rather than silently continuing.

Credits do not expire. They stay on the account until you spend them, for as long as the account is open.

You can set balance thresholds that email a warning before you run out. Alerts are a courtesy, sent best-effort, and are never what stands between your account and a 402 — the credit balance is.

Unused credit is refundable within 14 days of the purchase that created it. Email us and we will return it to the original payment method.

Usage you have already spent is not refundable. The compression has been done and the compute is gone, so there is nothing left to return.

A refund of the whole of a purchase closes that purchase out. It does not remove usage you ran against it.

Prices are exclusive of tax. Where we are required to charge sales tax, VAT or an equivalent, it is shown before you pay rather than added afterwards.

You can close your account whenever you like. We return the unused balance from any purchase made in the previous twelve months. Credit older than that is not refunded on closure, though it stays spendable for as long as the account is open.

We may suspend or close an account for the conduct described under Acceptable use, and we will tell you why. Unused credit on an account closed for that reason is forfeited.

Closing an account does not delete the usage counters we are required to keep for billing records. Those hold no payload; see the Privacy page for what they contain.

We may change these terms. Material changes will be notified to the account email before they take effect.

The wire contract is versioned. Additive changes will not break an existing integration; a breaking change increments the version.

To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim.

These terms are governed by the laws of Jordan, and the courts of Jordan have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

Nothing here limits a right you have that cannot be limited by the law that applies to you.
